Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

Cambodia has achieved impressive economic growth since the mid-1990s and has made significant progress in reducing national poverty. It is ranked 124th out of 169 countries (UNDP 2010 Human Development Index). However, despite recent socio-economic progress, 27 percent of Cambodians still live under the national poverty line with 18 percent of Cambodians considered food insecure. Based on the reality of development endeavor in Cambodia, many Donors, Non- Governmental Organizations and Government Institutions are currently supporting and implementing various development projects throughout the country to reach poverty alleviation.
